Avoid Common Scams
Be cautious of:
- Requests for deposits before viewing an item.
- “Shipping agents” or third-party couriers.
- Over-payment schemes asking you to refund the difference.
- Requests for gift cards as payment.
- Pressure to move the conversation off-platform immediately.
- Someone insists on shipping or unusual payment methods.
Payment Tips
- Sellers, mark your preferred payment type on your listings.
- Buyers, please show up with the agreed payment type, e.g. Cash or e-transfer, at the time of exchange.
- Never share online banking credentials.
- Don't send money for items you haven't seen.
UsedVanIsle will never ask for payment information, deposits, gift cards, or identity verification fees. If someone claims to represent UsedVanIsle and requests money, it is fraudulent.
Report Suspicious Activity
If you encounter:
- A suspicious listing
- Harassment
- Scam attempts
- Fraudulent behaviour
