This is a 2022 Xtracycle RFA that has been incrementally updated to an outstanding cargo and kid hauling bike. 2022 Xtracycle RFA (2nd Gen) Glossy Off-White SN RFA21B010. purchased from Bishop’s Family Cyclery who continues to provide excellent support for the bike. We spent about $9000 CAD building this bike. Asking $5350. We’re selling this as a completely accessorized, turn-key bike, set up exactly how we use it for year round family transportation. It’s ready to go.
The bike has the high and long stem; we’re 5’11 and 6’3” but it can be easily adapted to most folks. The kind folks at bishops are happy to assist with shorter stems.
The bike features:
• New (Jan 2025) extra strong rear wheel built around the electronically shifted shimano 5 speed e-bike internally geared hub. This allows use of a thicker and stronger chain for longer life.
• Rolling Jackass kickstand. https://www.rollingjackass.com Did we spend over $600 to upgrade our kickstand? Yes, yes we did. And it was an *excellent choice*. This is an outstand kickstand and has a handlebar lever for easy deployment.
• Dual snackbars and seat pads for comfortably transporting up to two kids or small adults.
• The front porter rack with an *extra-large* Wald Giant Delivery Basket. We had to hand import this basket from America as no one in Canada carries it. The basket has a fitted therma-rest pad for the bottom and a fitted cargo net with two hooks on and two carabiners. Huge front baskets are amazing. We’re including a Canadian Tire shopping bag that is a perfect fit for the basket.
• 180mm diameter brake rotors with outstanding Tektro hydrolic brakes. Stopping is so important for family bikes.
• Fixed front headlight mount and upgraded rear taillight.
• Extended rear mudflap so you don’t splash people behind you.
• Stock Saddlebags and foot rests suitable for ‘bagging and dragging’ other bicycles.
• Top Tube bag to hold tools and keys.
• Extra-long Abus Lock mounted behind the seat tube.
• Waterbottle cage mounted to basket.
• New Bishop’s waterbottle for extra fun.
• Owl waterbottle holder and bell for the rear passengers.
• Extra 24” studded tire for winter operations. The studded front tire makes winter operation much safer on snow and ice. It means the front end doesn’t slide out from under you. Rear slips are much less dangerous. (and changing the rear tire is a hassle)
• Homebuilt trailer hitch adapter that clamps to the rear rack.
• New motor (jan 2026); warranty replacement. ~150kms on the motor.
• Lightly used battery. We’ve been spreading wear across 3 batteries so the battery still feels very performant. (new battery in 2023 to fix a firmware problem and spare battery later in 2023 for camping)
Total bike weight as pictured is 40Kg (90lbs).
This bike has been a fantastic companion for our family, but our child has grown out of the bike and we’re ready to pass it on.
There is a hooptie kit available for this bike and the rear rack is compatible with some child seats if you want to carry smaller children.
